Powerstart Food
Powerstart Food is a new liquid fertilizer consisting of phosphate, potassium, magnesium and zinc. Due to its unique composition and the combination of these elements, Powerstart Food helps onions and other crops with small seeds to develop faster and maintain constant growth. The quality of the product leads to an average yield increase of 6% compared to other (liquid) fertilizers.

By utilizing 30 litres per hectare you can postpone your basic fertilization until after sowing and thereby avoid creating ruts before sowing. You will also save about 40 kg of phosphate and about 50 kg of nitrogen per hectare. This will give you more leeway in your mineral balance that you can fill up with organic fertilizer, which has proven to yield a profit on average over the last few years.

The fertilizer can be applied by fitting special equipment to the sower. Powerstart is then sprayed directly behind the sowing coulter onto the seed. This has absolutely no negative effects on the seed because Powerstart is the only fertilizer with a low EC value (salt concentration).

In addition to onions, good results have been achieved with carrots and chicory.

Throughout the Netherlands , the number of contractors using Powerstart has increased significantly in recent years. As a result of this success, Mol Agrocom has decided to distribute the Powerstart brand abroad as well.

Powerstart Feed
Powerstart Feed is a liquid fertilizer that can be applied to maize seed during sowing. The unique thing about Powerstart Feed is that it can be sprayed directly onto the seed at a dosage of 20-25 litres per hectare. This is not possible with other liquid fertilizers because the high EC value (salt concentration) in these fertilizers tends to burn developing roots.

Because Powerstart Feed is liquid and can be applied directly onto the seed, it provides the maize seed with direct access to fresh phosphate, which is very important for a good start. The phosphate used in Powerstart Feed is of exceptional quality and does not bond with the elements calcium or iron, which means that 100% of the phosphate can be absorbed by the plant. The fertilizer’s low level of acidity (pH <2) promotes an acid root environment. As a result, minerals (as well as soil phosphate) can be absorbed easily.

Zinc and nitrogen are also added to Powerstart Feed. In the right dosage, nitrogen is essential for growth and ensures better absorption of phosphate. Zinc is very important for enzyme development, but does not significantly influence phosphate absorption. Research conducted a few years ago shows that soil with a high pH value and a high level of calcium experienced problems with zinc. Zinc is very important for more than 80% of the enzymes developed during a plant’s growth cycle. It helps the plant to develop a stronger root system, which positively influences phosphate absorption. Maize is especially dependent on the presence of zinc during the 0 to 8-leaf phase. Over the course of a growing season, maize uses 700 grams of zinc per hectare. Compared to all competitive products, Powerstart contains the largest amount of zinc in a form that can be directly absorbed by the plant. Powerstart enables you to distribute 800 grams of zinc per hectare during sowing!

Powerstart Feed is a factory-produced, stable fertilizer. The quality of the product has been proven by years of research in official test fields.

Sowing and fertilizing simultaneously provides great logistical advantages. It requires less physical effort to sow more hectares in one day. And the special machine that was developed especially for Powerstart Feed (called the Powerstart-kit) makes it even easier to apply 20 litres to 1 hectare with precision.

In addition, it significantly reduces the amount of minerals needed, especially phosphate. This has a very positive influence on the mineral balance in the soil and decreases the environmental impact.
